ihan is an electronic duo of two design students from toulouse,
france. started from an instrumental background, today they
explore the abstract ┤plates-formes┤ of sound. their first album
fits perfectly in the electronic imperium of mille plateaux. like
snd or bretschneider, ihan works with all the new soundfiles and
glitches of digital music, but use it in a very special and also
cool way. ...this digital music takes not only place on the level
of signification, asiginificant material, non coded forms of
expression but use them.
the world of iota is builded on the coexistence of electroacoustic
research┤s gains (┤techniques de montage┤, microscopic study of
sounds) and the rational pulsation of minimal techno. ihan make
with 11 titles, sans titre, artificial implications of music
audible. it is singular electronic music, pared down, thin, cold
and strong at once. flows of intensity, fluids, continuums, fine
segmentation, microperceptions are charecteristics of ihan┤s music.
