| The City Gates is a Montreal indie rock band. Their musical |
| influences combine also now and then elements of liveliness, |
| ambient sound, shoegazing, post-rock and folk-music. In a word, |
| a mix of what MontrealÆs independent music industry actually |
| offers. |
| |
| After independently releasing two EP (five-tracks), the band has |
| just finished recording their first complete 10 track album |
| named Collapse. As the band was looking for more character and |
| vitality on this album, The City Gates were given the |
| opportunity to record at Studios Piccolo, with the support of |
| great producer Gautier Marinof whose work has involved The |
| Stills, Sam Roberts Band, Francois Lafontaine (Karkwa) and |
| Simple Plan. |
