Disc 1- Food Fight (A recipe by gastronomic gangsters Coldcut & DJ
Food):
This improvised concoction is recommended as a means of bringing
together maximum originality, variety, surprise, unexpectedness and
good humour. The wide range of ingredients allow for a crunchier
texture, reflecting the glorious diversity of the Food Fighters'
global kaos kitchen. Manners at the turntable are abandoned as we
learn that cutting food with fingers produces far more deckstrous
cuts than, for example, the traditional knife and fork.
Beat and mix ingredients well. Add chopped samples, and a few drops
of essence of flip-flop. Place in twentieth century melting pot.
Simmer to the point of revolution, where grace falls apart for the
purposes of its transformation. Meanwhile, heat oil in a heavy-based
pan. When oil is smoking hot, drop breaks into pan until crisp. Add
readybrek, and sauce prepared earlier. Now divide the mix-ture
between the battered turntables, stand them on a breaking sheet and
break in the centre of the dancefloor, pre-heated to gas mark 1200
SL, until firm and springy to the touch.
To serve, allow the gramophones to become tables. People may pluck
at their discretion from on top of the records which have become
rotating plates, while Geisha boys perform backflips to accompany
the dynamic service.
Disc 2- Back in the Base (A recipe by futurist Japanese DJ Krush):
Masterchef DJ Krush has acquired an attitude that understands form
and texture are equally important as taste. This compact disc is
prepared in such a way that every person not only has the sensation
of eating, but also digesting a work of art.
The secret to this recipe lies in its smooth consistency. To
prepare, remove skin from a kilo of London Funk Allstars and cut
from stem to root, carefully reserving any juice which escapes.
Pound together with a hint of aural prostitution. Add yeast, allow
to rise and flatten into Krush pie shape using bass city roll.
Scratch surface with diamon-tipped needle, filling cavities with
liqueur of lounge shiznitz.
Serve chilled on a bed of rice for downtempo situations. Eat with
hiphopsticks. Taste over several days, so there is time for flavour
to develop.
