              An incredible compilation of material
              by Mestre Cupijo and the musicians of
              Cameta' the Amazonian town where the
              Siria style was born! The always-great
              Analog Africa label turns to Brazil for
              this one a nice step after their rich
              range of African reissues given the
              nature of the material. The people of
              the region include many of African
              origin, and the music is an exciting
              mix of tropical rhythms and percussion,
              seemingly African-inspired horns,
              guitar and vocals. Mestre Cupijo
              recorded a half dozen records from the
              mid 70s to early 80s, capturing the
              time-honored regional style in a
              modernized setting, and this
              compilation puts some of the best of
              that material together in a really
              exciting set. Revelatory stuff!
