Follow up to the highly acclaimed debut "Circle of the Sun". The Higher Key is an
album that sees Arc of Ascent continuing the heavy stoner/acid/psych feel but with
added intensity. With new guitarist Sandy Schaare leading the charge with his full
organic tone and fuzz wahd solos, this new album has depth and diversity while
still being crushingly heavy. From the opening track "Celestial Altar" to the
mystic haze of "Search for Liberation"- and even the full blown heaviness of tracks
like "Redemption" or "Elemental Kingdom" The Higher Key is a monumental album.
Everything seems to be just "right" as you listen to the album.....crazy solos,
eastern themes, pounding dynamic drums and bass, and with Craigs eastern mystic
vocals and lyrics guiding the way.
