            After stars reach a certain point, it's easy to forget what they
            became famous for and concentrate solely on their personas. Madonna
            is such a star. She rocketed to stardom so quickly in 1984 that it
            obscured most of her musical virtues. Appreciating her music became
            even more difficult as the decade wore on, as discussing her
            lifestyle became more common. However, one of Madonna's greatest
            achievements is how she has manipulated the media and the public
            with her music, her videos, her publicity, and her sexuality.
            Arguably, Madonna was the first female pop star to have complete
            control of her music and image...

            Written by Curtis Hudson and Lisa Stevens (of Pure Energy),
            "Holiday" was offered to Madonna by her producer John Jellybean
            Benitez when she was looking for a potential hit track to include in
            her debut album. After accepting the song, she and Jellybean worked
            on it and altered its composition by the addition of a piano solo
            performed by their friend, Fred Zarr. Originally released as the
            third single from the album "Madonna" in 1983, this 12-inch came out
            in 1991 off "The Immaculate Collection" and also includes "Where's
            The Party" and "Everybody" in remixed versions produced by Shep
            Pettibone, Bruce Forest and Frank Heller.
