│ "Explosive" is right! The title track is furiously cut and │
│ scratched pounder, courtesy of RJD2, with a great guest vocal │
│ spot by Lyrics Born. We're really starting to warm up to RJD2 in │
│ a big way around here; some of the ubiquitous DJ's work of the │
│ past couple of years kind of rubbed us as just a little too hip │
│ and cold, but more recent work (particularly on the Soul │
│ Position and Diverse full lengths) is steeped in some of the │
│ most seriously catchy and skillful turntable wizardry around. If │
│ anyone were to ask for our top 5 hip hop singles of '03, be they │
│ indie, major or galactic, "Explosive" would certainly be on │
│ there. Madlib touches "Ain't Right" with his trademark │
│ jazzy-mellow sound washes, and a fast, post-drum & bass beat │
