deejedies are apparently from siberia, although the pr guy i
spoke too say's he's from uzbekistan although i know he's really
from milton keynes and took drugs with prince harry. anyway, to
get to the point, there is something good about pornojazz
(although i cringe at the title). it's funky, in a relaxed kind of
way, but the thing i like is that there is a olittle discordance
withing the music. it's not sickly, sweetly, slick like a lot of
this stuff - it throws up a few surprises every now and then. for
example, the adagio in 'cosmo picnic' is very cleverly dropped in
- a sample from it appears earlier in the track, but you only
recognise it (it's the famous one by albinoni or someone - the one
the farm used years ago anyway) after a few notes. you have to
hear it to see what i mean. the beats and drums are pretty good
too. certain new media websites will no doubt be using loops from
this album to convince visitors to their websites that they are
cool.
