MC franτais aux influences multiples, Biga*Ranx dΘbute dans le milieu reggae dΦs
l'Γge de 13 ans. InfluencΘ par la culture Jama∩caine, il puise son inspiration
auprΦs d'artistes tels que Super Cat, Alton Ellis et Vybz Kartel. Il dΘcouvre
ensuite l'univers des ½grosses productions amΘricaines╗ et dΘveloppe rapidement
son propre style mΩlant Reggae et Hip-hop.
C'est son voyage en Jama∩que qui marquera vΘritablement le dΘbut de sa carriΦre.
Lα-bas il frΘquente les studios et enregistrera son premier morceau aux c⌠tΘs de
Ninja Ford. Ce sΘjour l'a largement inspirΘ car mΩme lorsqu'il chante sur des
productions plus actuelles, Biga*Ranx garde son c⌠tΘ singjay jama∩cain qu'il
mΩle avec dextΘritΘ α un chant aux allures plus soul.
En 2004 il crΘΘ le Bandalero Sound System et sillonne les routes de France aux
c⌠tΘs du DJ Atili et de temps en temps avec la formation steppa Ondubground.
Plus tard Biga*Ranx collabore avec le deejay autrichien Governor General Rugged,
pour crΘer la formation Mus Bus aux influences Hip-hop/Dancehall. C'est alors
qu'il commence α se faire une place sur la scΦne reggae franτaise, entre ½clash╗
et soirΘe sound-system. A l'aise, aussi bien avec un Dj qu'avec un groupe,
Biga*Ranx apprend rapidement le mΘtier et brille sur scΦne.
Il part ensuite sΘjourner α Londres parfaire son anglais et va y dΘcouvrir la
pluralitΘ de la scΦne anglo-saxonne dΘvoilant diffΘrents courants musicaux tel
que la drum'n bass et le dubstep. L'engouement pour ces nouvelles musiques
dΘveloppera alors dans ses productions un aspect crossover, signe de sa maturitΘ
artistique naissante. De plus en plus ouvert musicalement, c'est avec une
facilitΘ dΘconcertante que Biga*Ranx se pose sur des compositions toujours plus
originales.
Suite α cela, les shows se succΦdent. En 2006 il partage l'affiche aux c⌠tΘs de
grands noms de la scΦne reggae tels que Sizzla, Gentleman, Horace Andy, Afura,
General Levy, ou encore Steel Pulse. Chacune de ses apparitions est remarquΘe et
tous s'accordent α dire que le jeune prodige α un potentiel impressionnant et
une indΘniable aisance scΘnique.
En 2008, il fait la rencontre du singjay jama∩cain Joseph Cotton qui donnera le
pseudonyme de ½Ranx╗ au jeune Biga*, symbolisant ainsi son entrΘe dans la cour
des grands. C'est avec lui qu'il postera sa premiΦre vidΘo sur YOUTUBE crΘant
alors un vΘritable ½ buzz ╗. ImmΘdiatement remarquΘ par les internautes, sa
notoriΘtΘ ne cesse de grandir et dΘpasse les frontiΦres de l'hexagone. Les
vidΘos ½ Air France Anthem ╗ (en featuring avec Joseph Cotton) et ½It's a
shame╗, enregistrΘes au studio Lootayard, totalisent aujourd'hui prΦs d'un
million de vues. Il est alors rapidement plΘbiscitΘ α travers l'Europe et
enchaine les concerts de Rome α Madrid en passant par MontrΘal et Copenhague ou
encore Lisbonne. A seulement 22 ans, Biga*Ranx a ΘcumΘ plus de 200 scΦnes et
jouit d'une renommΘe qui n'est plus α faire. La sortie de son premier album
officiel confirmera tout le bien que l'on pense de lui.
2011 est l'annΘe de la maturitΘ pour Biga*Ranx puisqu'il s'affirme vΘritablement
en tant qu'artiste en signant chez X-Ray Production, rejoignant ainsi Danakil,
Elisa Do Brasil, Noble Society ou encore General Levyà Aux c⌠tΘs de sa nouvelle
Θquipe il se lance vΘritablement dans la rΘalisation de son premier opus ½On
Time╗ qui sortira α l'automne 2011. RΘsolument moderne et Θclectique, cet album
est une belle surprise, α dΘcouvrir absolument !

French MC with several influences, Biga Ranx began in the reggae world at the
age of 13. Influenced by Jamaican culture, he draws his inspiration from many
artists such as Super Cat, Alton Ellis and Vybz Kartel. Then he discovers the
universe of American productions and finds he quickly his own style mixing
reggae and hip-hop.
This is his Jamaican travel which truly marks the beginning of his career. There
he frequents studios and records his first tune along side Ninja Ford. His stay
inspires him, even when he sings on new productions Biga*Ranx keeps this singjay
side mixed with skill to a soul singing.
In 2004 he creates the Bandalero Sound System and criss-cross France with DJ
Atili and sometimes with the steppa group Ondubground. Later Biga*Ranx works
with an Austrian DJ Governor General Rugged to create the groupe Mus Bus which
is influenced by hip hop and dancehall. Then he manages to make a name for
himself in the French scene between clashes and sound systems. He is as
comfortable with a DJ or a group. Biga*Ranx learns quickly and shine on the
stage.
Afterwards he stays in London to improve his English and discovers the
multiplicity of the UK scene through a lot of musical currents such as
drum'n'bass and dubstep. The passion for these musical currents develops a
crossover style in these productions, which shows the beginning of a musical
maturity. More and more musically open, Biga*Ranx chooses unexpected
compositions and adapts himself to them with a bewildering easiness.
After that, shows will follow over and over again. In 2006 Biga has surrounded
himself on stage with several artists such as Sizzla, Gentleman, Horance Andy,
Afura, General Levy and Steel Pulse. Each of is appearance is noticed and
reveals the potential and the ease of the young prodigy while he is on a stage.
In 2008 he meets the Jamaican singjay Joseph Cotton who gave the pseudonym
ôRanxö to the young Biga, which symbolized his entry into the major league. With
him he broadcasts his first video on Youtube creating a real buzz. Quickly
noticed by people on the internet, his fame grows up and go past French borders.
The videos ôAir France Anthemö featuring Joseph Cotton and ôit's a shameö,
recorded in Lootayard studio, count nearly a million views. He is fast acclaimed
all across Europe and lives come and go from Rome to Madrid and Montreal to
Copenhagen and Lisbon. The 22-year-old MC already scoured more than 200 stages
and has a reputation second to none. The release of his first album will confirm
how highly we think of him.
2011 is the maturity year for Biga*Ranx, because he asserts himself as a true
artist by joining the record label X-Ray Production, joining as well artists
such as Danakil, Elisa So Brasil, Noble Society and General Levy. Along side his
new team, Biga*Ranx launches into the realization of his first album untitled
ôOn Timeö which will be available for fall 2011. Modern and eclectic, this album
is a nice surprise to discover!
