This is the group of Cesar Camargo Mariano who used to back up
Wilson Simonal, Beth Carvalho (Andanτa) etc. But here they are
after they left Simonal after the Mexico tour of '70. This is
groovy jazz bossa at its best. Psychedelic weird and very cool.
Som TrΩs was formed in the late 60s by acclaimed pianist, composer,
arranger and producer CΘsar Camargo Mariano. The group included
Sabß Oliveira on bass and Toninho Pinheiro on drums. During his
productive career, CΘsar has founded groups like the classic
Sambalanτo Trio and, in 1968, the Octeto CΘsar Camargo Mariano, a
landmark in the fusion of jazz and bossa nova. During the 70s,
CΘsar worked with Elis Regina as her producer and arranger on three
major albums. Today, CΘsar is still a very sought-after producer
and celebrated artist in Brazil.
