A welcome return to Bonzai Progressive for Tribal Warriors aka M.I.K.E./Push
with his superb Defiance EP. Mike, as ever remains on top of his game with
gigs across the globe and multiple studio projects going on. On top of all
that he religiously dishes out the good on his Club Elite Sessions radio show
among other things. No doubt 2015 will be another stellar year and what a
great way to kickstart with this full on Tech fuelled monster. Defiance
settles into a smooth Tech ride as muted kicks are joined by cool stabs that
ooze house flavours. The kicks beef up and bring that tech edge to the sound
as crispy hats filter through beautifully. The multi layered bassline morphs
its way through the sound with a raw energetic flow that really gets the track
moving while sweeping FX fill the spaces. Superb stuff yet again and a tune
that will turn a few heads no doubt. Get Up intros with a smooth and rhythmic
drum arrangement that leads us up to an in your face synth riff that dominates
the sound. This stunning riff brings an infectious groove that locks you in
for the ride as a deep rooted vocal rises up. A superb organic bass comes
through and keeps with the tribal elements of the track. On the break the
vocal returns alongside a wall of noisy percussions before slamming us back
into the main sound for the duration. Top notch grooves and a definite must
have.
