The word is finally out on this talented and prolific keyboardist/
producer from Japan, longtime member of Kyoto Jazz Massive (Compost
Records). He was a member of the infamous Japanese group "Mondo
Grosso", but left to persue his solo career which has included
collaborations with Peter Erskine (ex Weather Report) & Bernard
Perdie. More recently his contributions include work on Jazzanova's
forthcoming album, as well as leading his own bands Sleepwalker
(Especial records) and Cosmic Village (ForLife records).
The Sleepwalker single "Secret flight", with the 4Hero remixes
created a storm on it's release on Especial records last year.
Since then, if you've had your eyes and ears open this is a name
which you'll have heard increasingly - his tracks have been included
on recent compilations from those that know; Patrick Forge, BBE and
Transatlantic Audio. New material has been eagerly awaited from this
exciting and innovative producer. The release of Violet Lounge is the
first time his solo work has been available outside Japan and
provides a good introduction, touching on various angles of
Yoshizawa's musical inspiration from abstract jazz, to hardedged
electronic soul. The definitive sound of future fusion.
