Release comments.:
Mad props to dh for super early promo!
This RETAIL release, not only it's VBR encoded but it really
sounds much better too.
I guess the promo was not final mastered or something..
Also there are track titles included now and the order of the
tracks has changed a bit since promo release!
Enjoy as this is one god damn good CD! So I suggest you to
buy it if you like it!

info:
Suzume Park was named after a zen garden situated in the
massive Japanese Sega Dreamcast game, Shenmue and
represented a little bit of peace in a hectic world.
This was also the feeling Bellcrash were trying to achieve
when they started the album.
Taking over a year to write and record, the album was a
labour of love for Belfast musicians Mark Bell and Paul McMahon.
The pair shook hands at the start of recording and agreed
that they wouldn't be satisfied until they made an album
that they still could be proud of in 10 years time.
The album itself was crafted in their home studios using
little more than two computers, some synths and a handful
of local musicans. Even at an early stage the pair knew
that they wanted to try to meld virtuoso live performances
with samples, synths and beats. They used local jazz talents
such as Lewis Smith and Linley Hamiliton, together with members
of local drum and bass up-and-comers Spree.
The album itself mixes funk tunes, house and out-and-out jazz,
as well as experimenting with spoken word. On one track, local
legend Peter Proctor delivers a passionate rendering of an old
poem, while on the opener, local singer Tim Cobain waxes
lyrical about growing up. Both agreed they wanted to hear some
Belfast accents on a record other than Van Morrison's.
The pair also tried to mix it up with the instrumentation too,
including a melodica in one track, a harmonica on another,
as well as plenty of rhodes, hamond and double bass.
The tunes themselves have been picked up by Gilles Peterson,
LTJ Bukem, Only Child and others.
Suzume Park will be released in November 2004 on Austrian
label Sunshine.
