│ Russian edition of the Split MCD featuring four great East European │
│ Pagan/Black Metal hordes: Graveland (Poland), Nokturnal Mortum │
│ (Ukraine), North (Poland) and Temnozor (Russia). │
│ The Graveland song is the longest track here by a considerable │
│ amount of time and itÆs quite epic, as is usually the case for newer │
│ Graveland. This song successfully represents what Rob DarkenÆs been │
│ writing these last few years and really contains all the elements of │
│ new Gravelandàthe same old Wotan-inspired Viking metal with │
│ bombastic drumming. │
│ Nokturnal Mortum present track is "Kolyada", a re-recording of the │
│ sixth song from the bandÆs first album, "Goat Horns". The │
│ re-recording is considerably more fast-paced and intense, with an │
│ obviously better production than the original version on "Goat │
│ Horns". │
│ NorthÆs song is similar to Astrofaes and itÆs fast-paced Black │
│ Metal. │
│ Finally we have the crowning jewel of this split, a re-recording of │
│ TemnozorÆs song "Did-Dub-Snop" off their very first album, "Sorcery │
│ Is Strengthening The Black Glory Of Rus". That this song on this │
│ split is truly amazing and the best among the four here. ItÆs │
│ undoubtedly an improvement in the production department though. From │
│ the incredible intro to the amazing riffs near the end, this song is │
│ flawless. │
│ Nokturnal Mortum, Temnozor, North and Graveland fans must to get │
│ this as itÆs excellent and recommend to anyone who likes Black Metal │
│ and Folk Metal as itÆs a great introduction to those amazing bands!! │
