| New full length album from Kompakt. |
| Jonas has been a long term player for the Cologne crew, going back |
| three or four years now, and his sound has matured and evolved |
| accordingly, but there's not been much mellowing going on. |
| 'Diabolo' and 'Nighthawks' set an addictive precedent for the cd, |
| minimal yes, but with less of the dubbed elements of the previous |
| album, more house. |
| 'Only mirrors' perhaps restores this dub connection, and 'Because |
| you're young' cements the relationship with iron-hard bass and |
| skewy steppers drums, but its at this point, the vinyl lover in |
| you finds yourself wishing for these tracks on wax. |
| No matter, as 'Circus' is all present and correct on the twelve, |
| definitely in the current vein of all things Villalobos and |
| Lucien.Luciano. At this point of the disc, the arc of this album |
| becomes readily apparent, 'Mustang 66' speaks further of midnight |
| tones, quality minimal through and through, retaining the upful |
| vibe. 'Normandie' will already be familiar to hard core Kompakt |
| twelve inch spotters, adding warmth at the end of a sizeable |
| journey of an album. |
| Closing with 'Out to out' defines the uses of this album, play it |
| as warm up to a night on the tiles and you're sorted, more |
| beautifully defined music from Kompakt. |
