Die letzte Ver÷ffentlichung "Tristan" von Dies Natalis
bewegte sich thematisch wie auch musikalisch auf anderen
Pfaden als diese neue LP "The bright and the pure".
Wo auf "Tristan" noch Neofolk geboten wurde, ist auf
diesem Werk kein Neofolk zu hoeren sondern fast
ausschliesslich elektronische Soundcollagen die mit einer
Frauenstimme gekoppelt wurden. Zum Leidwesen von einigen
Fans, die bestimmt wieder lieber wieder ein reines
Neofolk Album gehabt haetten.
Wo auf der letzten CD noch das Thema "Tristan und Isolde"
verarbeitet wurde, haben Dies Natalis fuer diese LP das
Thema "Katharer" gewaehlt. Wie ich persoenlich finde sehr
interessantes Thema, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass
sich aus dem Wort "Katharer" im Laufe der
Sprachgeschichte das Wort "Ketzer" entwickelt hat. Die
"Katharer" waren eine Sekte in Frankreich im Altertum,
die dem Papst entsagt hatten und daraufhin, alle fuer
ihren Glauben getoetet worden sind.
Im Eis & Licht Shop steht als Rezension zu diesem Werk
der Abschlusssatz : "Wir waren noch nie DIES NATALIS Fans
und auch diese Platte ueberzeugt uns nicht." Diese
Aussage kann ich und will ich nicht unterstuetzen,
besonders wenn man die thematische Arbeit von Dies
Natalis im Gegensatz zu anderen Projekten einmal
betrachtet. Wo gewisse andere Projekte (ohne Namen zu
nennen) auf jedem Album die gleichen Themen aufgreifen,
wie "Die Schwarze Sonne", "Barbarossa" & sonstige
abgelutschte Themen - versuchen Dies Natalis ihrer
Hoererschaft auf jeder Veroeffentlichung ein anders
Oberthema anzubieten und glaenzen dadurch mit Innovation
im Gegensatz zu gewissen anderen Neofolk Projekten.
Ueber Musik kann man sich bekanntlich nicht streiten,
entweder man mag den Dies Natalis Stil oder man mag ihn
nicht, aber irgendwelche Verallgemeinerungen sind voellig
fehl am Platze um ueber so ein kreatives Projekt zu
sprechen.
Der Anspieltipp fuer Euch ist das Tondokument "La
Complainte Pour Esclarmonte De Foix". Eine sehr schoene
musikalische Umsetzung der Zeit der "Katharer", wo am
Ende des Stueckes wunderbar zu hoeren ist was den Ketzern
wiederfahren ist. Schoene Idee mit guter Umsetzung!
Fazit: Dies Natalis geh÷ren zum Kreis der kreativsten
Neofolk Projekte in Deutschland und diese
Ver÷ffentlichung ist fⁿr den anspruchsvollen H÷rer wie
geschaffen. Sehr sch÷ne Idee und wunderbare Umsetzung,
die der Geschichte der Ketzer sehr nahe kommt.

▄█ 5th year in the mp3 scene. This has definitely █▄
██ been a year of ups and downs. Some other groups ██
██ have taken the opportunity to slag us due to a ██
██ small percentage of questionable releases out of ██
██ the thousands we have released throughout our history. ██
██ Well, we will be the first to admit that we are only ██
██ human, and humans are prone to error, no matter ██
██ how careful they try to be. We strive to put ██
██ out the quality releases that you'd expect from ██
██ a group as old and hard-working as we are in AMRC. ██
██ You can rest assured that we will always do our ██
██ best to find and resolve any problems with our rips, ██
██ or the group as quickly as possible when it is deemed ██
██ necessary or proper to do so. To the groups ██
██ who have said that AMRC is dead or say that we ██
██ re-encode everything just because we've had some ██
██ errors in our rips every now and then... we're very ██
██ much alive and continuing with our legacy to release ██
██ the music that we enjoy and believe in. Before ██
██ you judge us and say that we're lame, take a ██
██ look at your own track records. I'm sure you'll ██
██ see that you're not so perfect after all. To ██

██ friends that have stuck by us for yet another year, ██

██ Operation Fastlink, we encourage the rest of ██
██ the groups in the mp3 scene and ALL scenes to ██
██ always be as secure as possible, and try your ██
██ best to keep our rips as well as yours away ██
██ from the p2p networks and public IRC channels. ██
██ Even more importantly, STOP people from selling ██
█▀ the fucking releases. If you know someone in ▀█
▄▀ the scene that's doing it, do what you need to ▀▄
▄▀ in order to make others aware and get them the ▀▄
▄▀ hell away from the scene. People who sell ▀▄
▄▀ releases fuck things up for everyone and are ▀▄
▄▀ the main cause for shit like Fastlink and ▀▄
▀▄ Buccaneer to happen. We know that it's nearly ▄▀
▓▄▐▌ impossible to control every aspect of the scene ▐▌▄▓
▄██▀ and guard every nook and cranny against unwanted ▀██▄
▐▌▀▓ attention and unsecure people, but it is in ALL ▓▀▐▌

▄ ▀▀▄ and private as much as possible to preserve ▄▀▀ ▄
