Narrative Voice for Novelists: How to Suck in Readers From Page One

This is part of a series of courses that will help you if you are trying to
get an agent, sell to a publisher, or sell your self-published books
directly to the reader. After reading thousands of queries, I've come to
believe that four things are essential if you want your novels to sell
well.

VOICE is one of those essentials. It's the first thing we notice when we
open your manuscript or book.

If you're unpublished and having a hard time breaking in or if you're
published but having a hard time breaking out, this course will help you.
You'll get the voice lectures that I give at writers' conference around
the country, but you'll get them at a fraction of what they normally cost.
Plus, you can take them in your own home, at your own pace, you won't have
to pay for a hotel, and you'll have lifetime access to these lectures.

You'll also be able to ask me questions in the class forum--I will make
myself available one day a week to answer any questions you have. And if
you're interested, you may enter to win a chapter critique. I'll draw, at
random, one chapter to critique each month, from all students who have
submitted chapters. Then I'll videotape my critique of the chapter--I'll
focus on voice issues--and load that video online so you can all learn
from it.

Hello Sally,

I hope you realize how much wisdom and knowledge you imparted during your
time at the wik13 conference in Birmingham. I was just processing the
evaluations and thought you might like to see some of the comments that
were specifically about your sessions. These were in response to the
questions that asked what their favorite session was or what session they
benefitted from the most:

* The one-on-one session with Sally Apokedak.
* Sally Apokedak, Part I and II were incredibly valuable with wonderful
insights.

Thanks for sharing that with our attendees and helping us to create better
books for kids!
