- NOTES
In anticipation for their new album, "Crown Royal" to
follow in 2001, but actually pushed back for more than two
years, Arista Records re-issued all of Run-D.M.C.'s
previous albums on June 1st 1999. Arista/BMG had acquired
*most* of Profile Records (the now infamous and pioneer
early 1980s Hip-Hop and Rap NYC Label) catalogue the prior
year in 1998, The now Profile/Arista would re-release
classic albums from DJ Quik and 2nd II None's respectfully
in anticipation of all new material. A lot of the Profile
Records catalogue had been OUT OF PRINT for many years up
until that point. I, myself that year was looking forward
to seeing re-issues from Special Ed and Dana Dane, but
those did not happen and instead "Greatest Hits" packages
were put out, which did not well satisfy me as a collector
of early, golden age hip-hop. Here, anyway is the CD
re-issue of Run D.M.C's forth album that was
orginally released in 1988. Rest in peace Profile. Cold
Chillin' and Tommy Boy Records.
