Jazz and House Music began to merge and interact at the beginning of
the 90's and Irma was one of the early labels to release this kind of
productions. The series 'Jazz House Independent' has always been one
of the classic compilations in this sub-genre. This music style has
now grown out of the original dance club location to become one of
the most common music genres in bars and beaches around the World.
This fourth volume of J.H.I. is for the first time a double pack.
First CD is unmixed and is sub-titled 'BMW Selection' after Black
Mighty Wax who compiled it. Cesare "BMW" Cera is one of the legendary
original Irma artists/producers, responsible during the years for
various quality projects, the major ones being Be Noir and Black
Mighty Orchestra. Under the second moniker he produced the tune
'Ocean Beach', one of the most played chill out productions of all
times! His selection includes some of the most successful club tunes
for Irma Records this year: Kaleidoscopio with 'Voce me Apareceu',
the most played Irma release on Italian radio and one of the hits of
this summer, here remixed by the Belladonna team; Sicania Soul, with
the fantastic re-edit by US DJ Danny Krivit (from Body & Soul in New
York) of "Starlite"; Don Carlos feat. Michelle Weeks 'Take Me Higher'
remixed by the most famous Japanese house DJ Yukihiro Fukutomi.
Second CD is mixed by Dino Angioletti, member of Irma act Pastaboys,
and is sub-titled 'Zanzibar Selection' from the name of the club
where Dino is resident. In this selection we find Max Sedgley
'Happy', currently in the UK charts, remixed by Soul Mekanink;
Pastaboys 'Babalawo', the track from their album which is getting
most club play at the moment; Claude Monnet 'Mafe Disco' and Monica
Nogueira 'Infancia Magica' (Martin Solveig rmx), two examples of the
hottest French House productions this summer; Ritmo da Rua 'Universal
Love', big US club hit on the Soulfuric label.
