Everyone who was ║ │ │║ involved with "Albion" shows up again, including ║ │ │║ the 7-piece line-up (with three guitarists), ║ │ │║ Dennis Ward (mix & mastering) and Gaetano Di ║ │ │║ Falco (cover artwork). Written, arranged & ║ │ │║ produced by 'captain' Gary Hughes, Ten's new ║ │ │║ album is named after the mythical 'Island Of The ║ │ │║ Dead' and as such it's no wonder a pirate woman ║ │ │║ is pictured on the cover. For the rest, this is ║ │ │║ another Ten album with all those typical Ten ║ │ │║ ingredients, of which Hughes' somewhat nasal ║ │ │║ voice is so prominent (again). The album opens ║ │ │║ with the atmospheric instrumental ║ │ │║ "Buccaneers/Dead Men Tell No Tales" and the tone ║ │ │║ is set for another ten tracks of which "Tell Me ║ │ │║ What To Do", "The Dragon And Saint George", ║ │ │║ "Karnak/The Valley Of The Kings" and the ║ │ │║ European bonus track "We Can Be As One" (a ║ │ │║ ballad) are the highlights for me.
