"Creation (East L.A.)", out 10th July, is the lead single to be lifted from 'A
New Constellation', an album of soulful jazz instrumental pieces by Quantic
Presents The Western Transient.
Coming out on 10th July, two weeks ahead of the album, "Creation (East L.A.)" is
a song for winding your car windows down, dedicated to many good times in East
LA and encapsulating the spirit of this project, with solo performances by
Sylves¡ter Onyejiaka on flute & Todd Simon on trumpet. The single package also
boasts "Creation (East L.A.) (The Reflex Revision)", which sees remixer
extraordinaire The Reflex working his magic on the track for discerning
dancefloors. The album track "A New Constellation" is also highlighted on the
single, bringing sonic imagery of a burgeoning galaxy to symbolise new
beginnings and featuring a transporting Moog solo by Brandon Coleman.
The latest project from Will "Quantic" Holland, The Western Transient brings
together a handpicked band of some of his favourite musicians to realise a set
of new compositions paying homage to the rich, lively and intimate quality of
the classic soul and jazz recordings. In characteristically mercurial fashion
this new outing sees Holland following up the explosive, worldly electronic and
vocal direction of his last solo album, 'Magnetica', with a suite of
traditionally recorded pieces that capture the spontaneous beauty in the old
ways of music making.
