What kind of musician grows out of a boy who preferred Brian Eno 's
ambient music to the more common Top 40-like material when he was,
     let's say, 12 years old?
This kid is living in Warsaw, he's called Mikolaj Bugajak and
currently aged 21. As a musician he's using the name Noon and his
solo-album Bleak Output is the answer to that question.
Back then Brian Eno triggered his sense of mood and suggestive
atmospheres and he developed this further when he discovered
other moody and suggestive music, in particular Portishead. A
little while later people like DJ Shadow and DJ Krush came into the
picture. Samplebased music, focused on beats and breaks. This put
him even more on track, the track he's been following until now.
Bleak Output is 100 % samples, all taken from vinyl-LP's which give
this CD a very 'analog' character with its noise and crackle. It
sounds like a record which has been played quite a bit, kind of a
     nostalgic sound...
As will be clear by now, Noon's music is basically founded on
atmosphere, suggestive moods, melancholy and introspection.
And beats. Slow, loungy hip-hopbeats, the second pillar under his
tracks. A third pillar could be his 'less is more' attitude, as it
will be clear to everybody listening that this man knows how
powerful limitations can be in the right hands. --ddrecords.com

P.S. There a quite some pops/skips/... on the album. That's normal.
