quantic, a.k.a will holland made his debut release on tru
thoughts with three quality tunes on his 'life in the rain' ep.
with only a handful of releases behind him and still only 21 years
old - the future looks bright for mr holland. his sound has
elements of jazz and funk combined with tough beats, highlighting
his talent as a musician as well as a producer. mr scruff played
out his tracks on cdr, unable to wait for the vinyl and ltj bukem
emailed us saying '..the quantic 12" is sick - it went down wicked
last night [at that's how it is]'.

will first cut his teeth on breakin' bread with a very tough and
funk laden 7" called 'we got soul' which was picked up by john
peel and mary ann hobbs. upon hearing this, rob asked to hear more
of his stuff and there wasn't a shortage of quality tracks. so,
cut to four months later and quantic is signed to tru thoughts.
for his dj sets will cuts up the dancefloor friendly parts of his
extensive funk, soul and jazz 7" collection and he caused a storm
at phonic: hoop's 2nd birthday and the tru thoughts christmas
party at etch in 2000. since then, he has become a resident of
phonic:hoop, building a strong following of people who have gotten
     to know his style.

after the life in the rain 12", will put out 'super 8' (tru7018)
as the quantic soul orchestra on a 7 inch, which is a rugged funk
number, that has taken a lot of crate diggers and hip hop djs by
storm. similar to jon kennedy, will's output is prolific and his
debut album 'the 5th exotic' appeared in june to much critical
acclaim. being able to hop and skip between so many styles means
that will is now running three projects: quantic, the quantic soul
orchestra and the limp twins, all of which will be releasing music
on tru thoughts. he has also remixed tracks for pulver, klein
records and deep water. tracks have also been licenced to the big
chill compilations, the australian broadcasting corporation
compilation along with compilations in germany and japan.

     // tru-thoughts.co.uk

written by will holland and alice russell
produced and arranged by will holland

guitar and bass by will holland
vocals by alice russell (alice russell appears courtesy of estereo
     recordings. estereo-recordings.com)

taken from the quantic album "apricot morning" (tru lp 034 / tru
     cd 034)
