The man behind "Static" is drummer/producer Hanno Leichtmann
(*1970). He came to Berlin in 1994 and soon became a part of the
local electronical music scene, being especially familiar with Jazz
and improvised music.
Static produces "electronic listening music that you can dance to"
- cool grooving & swinging machines with rhodes piano, vocoder and
808. This "electronic electro jazz" stems from Hanno`s most
important influences: Kraftwerk, Cool Jazz, Sun Ra, European Free
Jazz, John Cage, Old School Hip Hop and Dub Reggae.
"Static" is released on the Mermaid imprint (a part of the Sonar
Kollektiv).
Hanno is also 50% of "Paloma" (the other part is J. Strobl)), a
live drum'n'bass-project with jazz and techno-house-influences,
while both team up with Rupert Huber for the ambient-jazz project
Dawn.
Together with N. Bussmann Hanno already released a successful
record on the "Mehrwert" - imprint as "Dj AttacheΦ vs. Beige
Oscillator",
