Notes:
Taipale is a kind of a progressive folk band performing
their own instrumental music. Their tunes are
influenced by jazz, folk and folkrock with a strong
flavour of melancholic Finnish folk music.
At the beginning Taipale was a solo project of guitar
player Markus Vaisanen. Now it┤s a quartet of four fine
players: Markus Vaisanen (gtr), Kalle Ylitalo (bass),
Janne Mathlin (drs) and Antti Vuorenmaa (pedal-steel,
dobro, banjo, mandolin).
The first cd under the name Taipale ("The Weight of a
ghost"), was released in June 2011. It has four special
guests in it: Timo Kamarainen (gtrs), Esa Kuloniemi
(Slide gtr) , Tero Hyvaluoma (fiddle) & Paivi Hirvonen
(fiddle, voc).
