Icons of Elegance is a band fronted by two brothers splitting their time
between London and Helsinki. Stepping away from previous albumsÆ chamber
pop and americana - which has received attention from the likes of Uncut,
Clash and BBC Radio 2 - their new album contains less pedal steel and more
Juno synths.
The recent double A-sided single ôI CanÆt Dance Without Your
Beatö/ôLightshipsö - an upbeat, 80s influenced slab of happy Scandi-indie
backed by the more sombre tale of a family friendÆs tragic last boat trip
at sea - perfectly captures the different moods of this new direction.
The band was formed when the brothers saw a photograph of Salvador Dali
describing the painter as an æicon of eleganceÆ - a good name needed a
band!
