█ the wanteds is a one-human music project fueled by the █
█ high-energy feelings and fears of singer/songwriter Tommy █
█ Harrington. It is the end result of his search for a sound █
█ that was more creative and involved a wider range of █
█ emotions than any of his previous "bands". █
█ █
█ Tommy wrote, recorded, and played all the instruments on Let █
█ Go Afterglow, his debut release as the wanteds. Musically, █
█ it is a cross between the old and new and pays homage to █
█ some of his biggest influences like The Cure, ELO, David █
█ Bowie and Nirvana. The hair is definitely Bowie. █
█ █
█ So, who got him inspired? It was Jane's Addiction. He says █
█ hearing Nothing's Shocking for the first time changed the █
█ way he heard music. It was raw, powerful and poetic. In █
█ fact, he listened so much that he bought several copies of █
█ that tape and wore the printing off all of them! Then, he █
█ bought a guitar. █
█ █
█ If you want to understand the wanteds, it is important to █
█ understand some of Tommy's beliefs: FATE, DEDICATION, █
█ DESIRE, MOTIVATION and INDEPENDENCE. Tommy says, █
█ "it all began with letting go of the past. Then, I spent 14 █
█ hours clearing my house and studio of 5,200 pounds of stuff █
█ while listening to Outkast's 'Hey Ya' on repeat...and that █
█ was the moment of absolute satisfaction." █
