: Wasteland's 2nd album October is musique concrete. :
: Grime. Old school rave. Wasteland touches it all, :
: sucks it in and grinds it. An inescapable groove lined :
: with the most fearsome sounds; a bubbling, sliding, :
: breathing space inhabited entirely by machines that :
: are constantly evolving into something even more :
: beautiful and deadly than they already are. :

: After years of producing, performing, and deejaying :
: separately, New Yorküfs I-Sound and Londonüfs DJ Scud :
: have each established strong reputations within the :
: global underground music community. With their labels :
: Ambush (Scud), Transparent and Full Watts (I-Sound) :
: the two have released some of the most uncompromising :
: beat oriented music of the last few years. Wasteland :
: takes the experiences of their past endeavors and :
: builds a new sound around a core of searing :
: electronics and slow drag beats. :
: :
: The beginnings of the group are rooted in I-Sound's :
: collaborations with other artists in the fields of :
: improvised/ experimental music and electronica. :
: Performing with scores of improvisers, along with :
: recording and touring stints with Germany's To Rococo :
: Rot and Swiss trio Koch/ Shutze/ Studer, inspired him :
: to approach Scud with the idea of putting together :
: their own group. The critically acclaimed resultant :
: debut Amen Fire (one of The Wireüfs Top 15 Electronica :
: Records of 2003) established a new singular sound for :
: both artists, fusing Scud's already ample production :
: skills in experimental breakbeat with I-Sounds knack :
: for gritty unusual arrangements to create an album of :
: sublow, staggered, funk bangers. :
