█║║█ most of both occasions. At the age of nine, Toseland's Mum's █║║█
█║║█ boyfriend introduced him to motorcycles. He went on to become a █║║█
█║║█ double World Superbike Champion; and when he was looking for a new █║║█
█║║█ career, after a wrist injury forced his retirement from racing, a █║║█
█║║█ chance meeting with a vocal coach in London led to an introduction █║║█
█║║█ to former Little Angels singer, Toby Jepson. The result of that █║║█
█║║█ introduction is Toseland's 'Renegade'. Co-written and produced by █║║█
█║║█ Jepson, 'Renegade' is full of riff laden, catchy rock songs, and █║║█
█║║█ isn't a bad start to James' new career path. █║║█
█║║█ █║║█
█║║█ The album opener is the band's debut single 'Life is Beautiful'. █║║█
█║║█ With excellent guitar work from Zurab Melua, and Myles Kennedy-like █║║█
█║║█ vocals from Mr Toseland, it's a great introduction to the album and █║║█
█║║█ leaves the listener in hope that the other ten songs are as ballsy █║║█
█║║█ and rocking! The good news is, they are! 'Gotta be a Better Way' █║║█
█║║█ has Toby Jepson's influence written all over it. In fact you can █║║█
█║║█ hear his influence throughout the album, and I'd go so far to say █║║█
█║║█ that it's his best work since his glory days in Little Angels. █║║█
█║║█ 'Singer in a band' tells the story of ToselandÆs aspirations to be █║║█
█║║█ where he is today and shows that the rest of Toseland, guitarist █║║█
█║║█ Rabea Massaad , bassist Dave Hollingsworth and drummer Ben Minal █║║█
█║║█ aren't just bit part players to a famous singer. █║║█
█║║█ █║║█
█║║█ Toseland is a band with talented musicians! The current single █║║█
█║║█ 'Crash Landing' contains scything lyrics and a catchy chorus that █║║█
█║║█ will have you singing along in no time. Even 'Just no Way', the █║║█
█║║█ album's token ballad, rocks from start to finish, mainly thanks to █║║█
█║║█ Toseland's excellent vocals. 'Comin to get ya' is another head █║║█
█║║█ nodding, foot tapping rocker, and 'Good Eye Blind' is, for me, the █║║█
█║║█ stand out track of the album. Although that may change next week █║║█
█║║█ because of the quality of the songs on this impressive debut. █║║█
█║║█ 'Kingdoms' starts off with piano, courtesy of Mr Toseland, which I █║║█
█║║█ expected to evolve into a tune in the style of Mrs T, singer Katy █║║█
█║║█ Melua, but it soon turns into yet another rocker, with a great █║║█
█║║█ guitar solo from Katy's brother, Zurab. 'Burning the System' is █║║█
█║║█ slightly more run of the mill, but the mood is picked up again with █║║█
█║║█ 'Emergency', again with Jepson's influence shining through. The █║║█
█║║█ album closer is the title track 'Renegade'. Finishing off in, yet █║║█
█║║█ again, rocking fashion that will leave you with a smile. █║║█
█║║█ █║║█
█║║█ The guitar work, production and above all, the vocals on this album █║║█
█║║█ are awesome and, apart from a few dodgy lyrics, æRenegadeÆ is a █║║█
█║║█ very impressive debut album. So if good, catchy, no nonsense, █║║█
█║║█ straight forward rock is your thing, then this album is for you. █║║█
