Taunus play acoustic instrumental music. Taunus originally
consisted of Jan Thoben and Jochen Briesen who met in early
2001.They were occasionally joined by Wilm Thoben and Soeren
Schrader playing drums, banjo, harmonium, vibraphone and the
like. Now, they often play as a trio with Wilm including more
banjo works, percussion and field recordings. Bass player Derek
Shirley also joined for one piece on "Malinche", the
forthcoming album.
