Born in 1979, living in Belgium, Leuven, nearby the Food club,
Ben gained his love for house music by listening to Raoul (Aroma),
Geoffroy (hi*phen) and of course the international guests
djs playing there.
Growing up, his musical tastes were also shaped by listening to
trip-hop, hip-hop, jazz, bossanova and funk; he cites diverse
musicians as influences, from the Fatback Band, Willie Bobo and
Donald Byrd to electronic producers like Thievery Corporation,
Kruder and Dorfmeister and house producers and jocks like Swirl
People, Mark Farina, Olivier Desmet, Lance DeSardi, JT Donaldson,
and of course many many more....
The above mentioned food club soon moved to another city, leaving
Ben no choice as to take over the Leuven house scene himself !
The TouchΘ parties started as a corporation with his partner
in crime Nolle, inviting guests such as Raoul
(one half of Swirl People), Dj Mes (Guesthouse), Massimo DaCosta
(Explicit Soul, and a part of the Vernon&Dacosta duo), Slater Hogan
and John Larner (Muzique Boutique), Jamie Thinnes (Seasons),
Halo (Bluδm), Duane (Alluv), Mood (SoSound) and a bunch of others.
Ben & Nolle have been spinning together for a couple of years now,
making them a really solid crowd rockinÆ duo ! They played at venues
all over Leuven, and this summer a dream came thruà. They were invited
to play at the notorious Food club! And this was only the beginnig of
a corporation between the Food club and touchΘ. From october 2004 on,
touchΘ will host a monthly residency at the Food club.
After BenÆs sound engineering studies, he recently started producing
the sound he fell in love with. He also tag teams with Nolle
in the studio nowadays.
