Salt Tank has made a huge impact on the electronic music world
especially after their success with the big hit of the classic track
"Eugina." ST 8 is like a mini album of soothing, melodic techno with a
complex musical structure and emotional depth that was well appreciated
at its time. "Pumping and elegant nature of the music" is what comes to
mind when we speak of Salt Tank. Salt Tank is the band that has remixed
many artists including Chakra, Chicane, Sueno Latino, Duran Duran,
Astralasia, Apollo 440 and Blu Peter. To prove that this release is
quite a journey itself, Salt Tank added the new remix of "Eugina" which
is a faster pace track that has the right flavors added to it, making it
sound a little bit more "club friendly." It's this unrelenting manic
trance vocals that supercharge the whole mini-album. The other tunes
worth mentioning are Eden, Origin Of Species and Astral. With its deep
and enchanting theme, "Eden" is a nice driving tune that's infused with
a myriad of sonic components, each doing their little bit to make the
pace short of breathtaking. "Eden" and "Orinoco" both has the same
sample. The only difference is that "Eden" has a harder electronic
presence in it. "Origin Of Species" is an impressive piece of music that
has a laid back feel in it coupled with the intensity of the
distinctively high pitched synth sounds that makes it so unique.
"Astral" is the best tune in this release. Mixed by Astralasia, this one
is a remarkably complex rhythm track comprising of distinguishing
touches not found in other tracks in this EP. This one slams big time
especially right after the middle part of it.
Enjoy!
