We got what you need, audible pleasure. The sound of Det Gamla Landet is
the feeling of families, friends and loved ones separated or parted. It
is the sound of love and nostalgia. It is the sound of how, through
their trials, some accomplish great and extraordinary deeds that they
might never have realized had they not been put to the test. Sadly, for
some, their lives will end before they will completely fulfill their
dreams. Here, on the full-length debut from Det Gamla Landet, there are
tributes to the common soldier, valiant unsung heroes and lovers. They
will not be forgotten. This is Det Gamla Landet.
Det Gamla Landet ("The Old Country" in Swedish) is a remarkable band
with a simple sound made up of banjo, guitar, melodica, the occasional
drum and organ and members of such diverse acts as Arty Banner Bent
Spanner and Lemko Hall. This is melancholy at its most beautiful.
Ripper note: The CD from which these tracks are ripped are mastered to
sound 'old'. Hence, the background noice is supposed to be there. It is
not a bad rip, but sounds exactly like the retail CD.
