     to make tracks come alive is one of the most exciting musical
     weapons in your arsenal. In this 11 video tutorial series,
     Studio One 3 expert Michael Tomblin makes Sidechaining creative,
     fun and easy.


     About the author Michael Tomblin:

     Michael Tomblin 1. When did you start dabbling in music? I felt
     a strong connection to music at a young age. When I was ten, I
     picked out the Star Wars theme song on piano. From then on, I
     would be forever involved in music. I also started playing
     guitar around that time. 2. What training have you had? I've
     studied many books and videos on music theory, guitar and audio
     engineering. I was mentored by talented audio engineers and
     producers. 3. When did you get into recording? I recorded my
     guitar playing very early on with a basic cassette recorder so I
     could critique and improve my playing. When I was 15, I got a
     four track cassette recorder so I could record sound on sound.
     This was amazing. That's when the recording bug bit me. 4.
     People you have worked with/for? Various east coast and
     international indie bands and artists. 5. Why are you so good at
     training people? My ability to train others started as a guitar
     instructor. A student may only be able to play simple chords at
     first, focusing on reaching small goals while having fun. Each
     accomplishment increases belief and motivation to reach bigger
     goals. I approach DAW instruction the same way. Helping people
     improve and gain confidence is rewarding.
