░ Maruta Kommand is an electro-death-industrial project based in London, ░
░ England. The project came into existence in December 1999 as a result ░
░ of collaboration between John Hull and Andi Penguin for the purpose of ░
░ recording a contribution to the Mz.412 'Legion Ultra' collaborative 7'' ░
░ on Cold Meat Industry. Andi had long been a friend of John's main ░
░ project, Interlock, and as a result of this collaboration Maruta ░
░ Kommand was formed, taking its name from a classic Brighter Death Now ░
░ track. ░
░ ░
░ Maruta KommandÆs sound combines death industrial and harsh electro ░
░ elements with the aim of creating the most sludgy, dense, painful and ░
░ suffocating song-structured electronics possible. Specific influences ░
░ include BDN, :Wumpscut:, Holocaust Theory, Suicide Commando, Mz.412 and ░
░ S÷ldnergeist. Musical ingredients include metal percussion, layered ░
░ vocal samples and field recordings. Thematically, the project deals ░
░ with the ruinous history of Europe in the 20th century and the steady ░
░ decline of human civilisation towards extinction. In performance, a ░
░ large proportion of the sound will be created live, with two to three ░
░ scrap-metal percussionists, Andi on vocals and John creating additional ░
░ analog noise and manipulating the overall sound as it is produced. ░
