| The Irresistible Force's debut album "Flying High" has become |
| regarded as something of an ambient classic. Weightless, almost |
| beatless and laden with goofy meditation dialogue samples it |
| spawned a flurry of corporate chill-out imitators. |
| |
| A subtle and dignified debut using high-end treble sounds that |
| arpeggiate and drift into soothing and psychedelic textures. |
| Ever the arch-aeshtete Morris samples avant-garde classical |
| works and lost synthesiser epics from the 30s, 60s and 70s. |
| These lend his tracks an ancient or timeless feel which he |
| intensifies with wandering structures and bubbling analogs to |
| create a sense of mystery. Every time you hear this record it |
| sounds different and `Symphony in E' with its pastoral strings, |
| and Joyce Grenfell vocals is an acid-soaked adventure into |
| England's green and cosmic spaces: in a word, genius. |
