Radio Free America, as a musical concept, was started around 1991 by
founding member Eric Seven, looking for a more personal creative
outlet that being in cover bands had been unable to provide. It was
in 1991, armed with two synths, a drum machine, and a small hardware
sequencer, that Eric first began writing music under the moniker
RFA. At first the music was heavily influenced by the synthpop bands
that were popular in Florida in the late 80s
