Is it appropriate to call the producers of
four-to-the-floor dance floor tunes musicians? In the case
of Bondi, the answer is: Yes, definitely. The duo proves
that rhythmic functionality and musical sophistication do
not necessarily exclude each other - and it does so in the
most entertaining way: It sounds like a spaceship is
powering up its engines, but at the same time there's the
vibe of a chilled-out night with a bonfire and easy guitar
songs. Melancholic emotions mix into compelling grooves, the
organic warmth of analogue sounds mixes with the surreal
brilliance of digitally synthesized soundwaves. Last but not
least, it's a human voice that really breathes life into
these productions. There's also two remixes, by Mollono.Bass
and Schäufler & Zovsky, which add a nice bonus of twisted
bass lines and rolling deepness.
