│║ Heavyweight German metal legends Rage are on the ║ │
│║ cusp of a world wide tour alongside Helloween ║ │
│║ giving newest members Marco Rodriguez (guitar) ║ │
│║ and Vassilios Maniatopoulos (drums) a chance to ║ │
│║ show what theyÆve got live on stage. Being a ║ │
│║ considerate bunch of chaps they decided to ║ │
│║ release the My Way EP prior to setting off to ║ │
│║ pacify their fans as they wait patiently for the ║ │
│║ next album release. Containing two re recorded ║ │
│║ tracks from the 1995 Black in Mind album and a ║ │
│║ new track in both English and Spanish it ║ │
│║ certainly gives them something to chew on. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ First up is title track My Way, packing a ║ │
│║ perfect power metal sucker punch with turbo tub ║ │
│║ thumping and beefy bass line which batters you ║ │
│║ into submission rapidly. Within seconds of the ║ │
│║ first notes, movement, whether involuntary or ║ │
│║ intended, commences. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ After barely recovering from round one old ║ │
│║ favourite Black In Mind thrusts in with a swift ║ │
│║ upper cut, no let up on the substantial pounding ║ │
│║ and in for the knock down, however Sent By The ║ │
│║ Devil brings a moment of reprieve like a ║ │
│║ standing eight count. Less vigorous in pace but ║ │
│║ just as high on impact. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ Finishing off with the Spanish version of My ║ │
│║ Way, or should I say Apuesto A Ganar although ║ │
│║ this translates to ôI bet to winö, only enhances ║ │
│║ the force with which it smacks you so nothing is ║ │
│║ actually lost in translation and if anything ║ │
│║ adds to the intensity of that final blow. ║ │
