█ █
█ Note: this is a different EP than Wolf_Parade- █
█ Wolf_Parade-EP-2003-pyt. █
█ █
█ This is also one of the best discs released in 2004. █
█ █
█ Wolf Parade is most likely the next big thing out of █
█ Montreal, so you best start liking this now before █
█ they become the next Arcade Fire. They recently █
█ signed to Sub Pop records and Isaac Brock (you know, █
█ the dude with the lisp from Modest Mouse) is lined up █
█ to produce their debut LP. He really digs them, I █
█ guess. █
█ █
█ They play "piano-heavy artrock" and describe █
█ themselves as being similar to Frog Eyes. They're █
█ kinda like the Unicorns but instead of being all fun █
█ and kiddie, they rock out. █
█ █
█ This is what the lead singer had to say about this █
█ EP: █
█ █
█ "It's untitled again, like the first one. We were █
█ gonna call it Totalosity, because it's a term that █
█ totally applies to the band. We always try to be █
█ gentle and delicate with the songwriting █
█ arrangements, we have these grand ideas for █
█ intricately structured songs, and then we go to the █
█ practice spot to play them and inevitably the songs █
█ get louder and louder and louder until they achieve █
█ what I like to call totalosity. Usually near the end █
█ of the song, it's at maximum volume. It's like an ape █
█ in a dinner jacket trying to sit down to a fancy █
█ dinner and use the salad fork correctly. Things go █
█ okay for a while, but eventually he's just peeing on █
█ the table." █
█ █
█ Download this and then listen to it because it's █
█ really good. It's also out of print, I think. █
█ █
█ Happy new year from iTS. █
