Rather, it was a pretty tepid, ║ │ │║ uninspired affair, offering mostly generic ║ │ │║ commercial Brit-rock that played it much too ║ │ │║ safe for its own good. At their hardest and ║ │ │║ usually most effective moments (see the gritty ║ │ │║ rockers "Face Down" and "Nights on the Town"), ║ │ │║ the Wild Horses, led by erstwhile Rainbow ║ │ │║ bassist Jimmy Bain and longtime Thin Lizzy ║ │ │║ guitarist Brian Robertson, showed traces of ║ │ │║ Lizzy's tough, bad-boy hard rock. But the Horses ║ │ │║ often wallowed in hopelessly lame soft rock duds ║ │ │║ instead.
