│║ After several unfocused releases, Italian ║ │
│║ metallers Hollow Haze release this, a seriously ║ │
│║ focused masterpiece of an album. Right from the ║ │
│║ off with æTears of PainÆ the vocal hooks are ║ │
│║ massive, the vocals of Alex Sonato are huge, ║ │
│║ they fucking soar. Only to be backed up by a ║ │
│║ concise and attacking rhythm section. The ║ │
│║ sound-scape created by this band is incredible, ║ │
│║ itÆs dark and itÆs atmospheric. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ This record is a series of 12 bright and ║ │
│║ relentlessly stampeding tracks, they break out ║ │
│║ and march straight over you. DonÆt get me wrong ║ │
│║ this isnÆt completely unrelenting metal, the ║ │
│║ band show their softer sides, but it only allows ║ │
│║ you to catch your breath before unleashing yet ║ │
│║ another bombardment of dark groove metal from ║ │
│║ the very heart of the band. Each track on Poison ║ │
│║ In Black uses a different instrument to push it ║ │
│║ further, from a drumming assault that batters ║ │
│║ the sensesàto a synth attack that creates so ║ │
│║ much atmosphere. That, paired with the stunning ║ │
│║ and immensely powerful vocals, create an intense ║ │
│║ wall of sound unlike no other IÆve ever come ║ │
│║ across. ║ │

│║ æLords Of The WorldÆ is a testimony to the ║ │
│║ skilful and mature songwriting used by the band, ║ │
│║ opening with a news broadcast and flowing into a ║ │
│║ bouncy guitar, it just instills a need to ║ │
│║ headbang, whilst itÆs lyrics are heavy and ║ │
│║ thought provoking, talking of the ultimate ║ │
│║ destruction of the world and how we as humans ║ │
│║ are brothers. (We shouldnÆt be killing our ║ │
│║ brothers!) It brings through almost Asian ║ │
│║ inspired synth passages just adding to the sheer ║ │
│║ enormity of the record. ║ │
