██▌▄▀█ Nitrada is the musical moniker of the Hamburg-based ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Christophe Stoll, who released the beautiful ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ electronic masterpiece, 'We Don't Know Why But We Do ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ It' (2.nd Rec) last year to great acclaim. The album ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ was littered with electronic references; both old and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ new, with a live indie band direction that touched on ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Cocteau Twins, Mum, Lali Puna and Hood. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'Four Remixes' contains, as the title obviously ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ suggests, four remixes of Nitrada's tracks from 'We ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Don't Know Why But We Do It'. Remixers providing ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ their services are Apparat (Shitkatapult), Lawrence ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ (Dial / Kompact), Telefon Tel Aviv (Hefty) and Turner ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ (Ladomat / Mute). ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Apparat's version of 'Fading Away' sounds more like ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Lali Puna do than themselves, as an ethereal female ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ vocal slurs over crisp and crunchy beats and gorgeous ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ electronics. But rather disappointingly, Telefon Tel ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ AvivÆs turn-out of the same title, remains too ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ faithful to NitradaÆs original, adding little in the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ way of reconstruction and thoughtful inventiveness. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Turner produces the most danceable song in the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ highlight of 'No. 4', adding a techno influence and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ hypnotic, electroclash synths, yet Lawrence ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ completely reinvents the atmospheric 'Everything Is ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ Not Alright' into a full-on, floor-filling anthem. ░██▌▄▀
    ██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'We Don't Know Why But We Do It' is almost impossible ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ to better, which would prove to be a difficult job ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ for the most accomplished remixer. Both Apparat and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Turner have done a sterling job in doing so, and it's ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ for these two fantastic tracks alone in which 'Four ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Remixes' is worth tracking down for. -angryape ░██▌▄▀
