            The traditional music of Sweden has been preserved through the
            playing of multi-instrumentalist and composer Ale Moller. A former
            member of folk groups Filarfolket and Friot, Moller helped to spark
            interest in Swedish folk music in the late 80s and early 90s. He
            currently works with violinist/vocalist Lena Willemark,
            drone-fiddler Mats Eden, and percussionist Tina Johansson in the
            Nordic Quartet, a group dedicated to resurrecting the medieval
            ballads of Scandanavia. Together with Jonas Knutsson, Moller has
            directed the 14-piece Stockholm Folk Music Big Band.

            Moller is a veritable musical explorer and globetrotter. He plays an
            incredible number of instruments, most of which were built
            especially for him. Out of all his many barrier-breaking projects he
            has now chosen to realize his dream of collaborating with Bohuslan
            Big Band and of plumbing the depths with Moller's music arranged for
            jazz orchestra. No stone remains unturned and not a single idea has
            been left unexplored as Moller and the band work together in seeking
            out the ultimate musical expression.

            And how they have succeeded! This disc contains everything any music
            lover could wish, from the sounds of a ballad played on the
            mediaeval crumhorn, through bagpipe sounding saxophones reminiscent
            of the Celtic tradition, to blues-like shuffle beats performed on an
            overtone drone-flute. The arrangements are tailor made and so are
            the choices of inspired soloists; everything fits together
            perfectly. Moller and Bohuslan Big Band take us in their time
            machine on a musical journey over a large part of the globe,
            painting fantastic pictures of music as a border crossing, peace
            making and healing force.
