Ibadan's latest is a minimalist "deep-house" production by Tony
Watson. Skills displayed on "Passages" are somewhat reminiscent of
older tracks such as Moodymann's Misled. Clearly, Watson's obsession
with "Passages" ' rhythmic pattern has enticed him to this refrained
production style : some discoey sirens echoes, some piano stabs are
featured here but always used as extremely discreet background
layers, allowing the listener to focus on the progress of the
minimal. One-sided vinyl.
