█ I try the most not to judge bands for their █
█ respective ideologies, as long as they can make █
█ good lyrics out of it and, more important, sound █
█ good. However, despite their adoration by the █
█ narrow Brazilian white supremacist fanbase, I █
█ can't see either in this debut of Zurzir's █
█ epicness-pretending garage rock. █
█ The music played in this album is nothing new for █
█ RAC bands in general. It's actually flat, and a █
█ bit boring if you're not just listening it for the █
█ lyrics or something. At least, musicians are kind █
█ of synchronised, even though the lack of bass █
█ makes it sound a bit empty and they seem out of █
█ tempo sometimes. █
█ Their instrumental sounds just like that of pretty █
█ regular rock, with riffs that are not elaborated, █
█ but are not that bad. Their base is economic and █
█ doesn't really show off, while their lead guitars █
█ are good at least. There are a couple of █
█ attractive riffs to mention, such as "Soldados de █
█ Odin", which is something not expected for a band █
█ in a genre as musically unpretentious as RAC, █
█ however, most of their instrumentals are pretty █
█ poor. Their are some good acoustic lines, such as █
█ in "Stonehenge" and "Grandeza Racial" but they █
█ sound bizarre contrasting with their music in █
█ general. █
█ What goes terribly wrong in Zurzir is the vocals. █
█ His vocalist doesn't seem to know what he's doing, █
█ except for grunting like an elder with a █
█ heartburn. Some may argue his raspy singing draws █
█ some kind of contrast with the rest of the song █
█ structure, but I think it's hard even to call it █
█ moshable. Combining with the acoustic lines I've █
█ mentioned to some songs, the result is pretty █
█ hilarious. █
█ Overall, Zurzir is just a flat band that tries to █
█ sing emotionally about awkward values, but end up █
█ falling into ridiculousness. █
