              Danish philosophy graduate-turned-
              producer Mikkel Metal made his first
              appearance on Echochord way back in
              2002, and has been delivering regular
              slabs of spacey electro, IDM, ambient
              and Detroit-influenced techno fusions
              for the imprint ever since.
              Surprisingly, Resemblance is his first
              full-length for the imprint in eight
              years, and finds him in a typically
              stargazing mood. While his electronic
              influences remain fluid - see the
              rumbling, dub-flecked creepiness of
              "From Here", the evocative, B12 style
              IDM of "Affirmation", and the tipsy,
              spaced-out pulse of "Fading Lamps" -
              it's his dedication to Motor City
              machine soul that shines through. It's
              an aesthetic approach that makes
              Resemblance a hugely listenable set.
