Releasenotes:
The first two pieces were recorded live at ClearLightSound for The New Decade
Concert, and were previously unreleased. Part of the reason for not releasing
these works was due to Lubomyr Melnyk's dissatisfaction with normal digital
sound. During this period, in 2010-2011, E.T. Nada and Lubomyr were working on a
new recording process that could revolutionize the concept of digital sound.
Finally, with the long process of developing the Full-Spectrum Omni-Sonic system
completed, these two works were released along with two new recordings that were
done in 2011 using the complete system to attain the rich variety of the piano's
overtone and frequency spectra. Upon hearing the final sound mix, Lubomyr
joyfully exclaimed "We did it!... This is better than analog!"
Prelude Nr. 2 is a quiet work that bases its existence on the concept of
"meditation", where the pianist allows the fingers to melt into the keys
creating a new synthesis of flesh and sound. It is this synthesis that is one of
the main features of Lubomyr's music.
The Self-Luminous Way is a tender and evocative piece that takes us into a
mystical garden of melodic flowering.
The Realm of Synchronicity is a long work that offers various changes of vista
for the listener, taking us on a journey through new aural spaces. This piece
was recorded fully in the new sound system, and gives you the unprecedented
brilliance of the piano sound complete with overtones and that amazing richness
found in Lubomyr's piano playing.
Cloud Nr. 9 was written in 2005; it ends with a second piano that comes from the
distance and joins up together with the first piano creating a long meditative
conclusion. The various Clouds (there are around 15 so far) are written with an
imaginary image of a particular cloud in the sky, each with its own personal
character - some are sad, some are brooding and some are light. All the Clouds
have a simple 6(8 structure with the hands moving in parallel motion, close
together, in a series of modulating chords that create a Series-Melody. The
Clouds are "easy" pieces, meant to help students learn the Continuous Technique
and develop the physical sense of Meditation.
