   ┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Another European Melodic Death Metal band', I said to myself, │
│ probably nothing new or interesting, but yet I had managed to │
│ surprise myself. Although, CORAXO accents the Finnish Melodic Death │
│ metal just as many other bands before them, they still have their │
   │ own touch. │
   │ │
│ To take off the main core; the genre of CORAXO you can't ignore the │
│ static, electronic guts the album 'Neptune' has. As someone who │
│ usually doesn't appreciate Synth- Keyboards, The composition of the │
│ synth is amazing, for my general taste, is super diverse and │
│ complicated. it definitely has a major contribution to the all │
│ atmosphere for this album. You will not find a song without a │
   │ synthetic fill in 'Neptune' . │
   │ │
│ As good as it may sound, the fact that they have only 3 members to │
│ this band intrigues me, and not in a good way. Isn't it binding to │
│ have a keyboard player capable of having such dominant compositions? │
│ And having another guitar player for fleshing out the riffs? I know │
│ that on the recorded level, one person can record, compose and │
│ produce multiple instruments, but the big challenge is pulling it │
│ out in a live concert. Many in this situation will rely on │
│ playbacks, some will hire addition players or just skip some of │
   │ these parts. │
   │ │
│ It has been mentioned that Tomi Toivonen is behind all this madness, │
│ as a Vocal performer, the only Guitar player and Programmer/ │
│ Keyboards, as much as I do count this man for some sort of a genius; │
│ I'm not sure that pre-recorded playbacks will do his compositions │
   │ justice. │
   │ │
│ The 'Neptune' album, is expected to be generic and monotonic for its │
│ accentuated genre. However, as I said before, not only the synth │
│ plays an interesting role but the whole band is very diverse on │
│ their tunes. They simply have it all! Speedy blasting drum beats, │
│ crazy guitar riffs, amazing melodic solos, alongside with slow, │
│ gentle parts making songs much more melodic and beautiful and even │
   │ jolly. │
   │ │
│ The only negative aspect I had noticed in this album, is that there │
│ is a monotonic character in the vocal performance by Tomi; sharp, │
│ but still hollow and rusty, his mid pitch voice plays an important │
│ mission to the whole nature of this album and the band itself by │
│ giving the listener cold unnatural, and extraterrestrial │
   │ experiences. │
   │ │
│ In the matter of fact, The general sound for 'Neptune' album quite │
│ resembles to Tomi's performance and fused to the melodic character │
│ with its artificial electronic nature , some who like their music │
│ live and warm, might not like this Avant-garde Death Metal at all. │
   │ │
│ And yet, nevertheless, ôNeptuneö has a high-quality well produced │
│ sound for a debut album. I have to say that it's very impressive, │
│ which in my opinion, especially for that deserves a high score! │
│ Above creativity, general sound and performance everything else is a │
│ matter of personal taste. │
   │ │
│ Although it's hard for me to appreciate electronic synthetic sound, │
│ it serves the total purpose and has a meaning behind it; there's │
│ nothing mindless or lazy in the elements I had mentioned before. │
│ Especially because of having this rich plot and concept of alien │
│ life on earth, something that I highly recommend to read before │
│ listening, just to feed up your mind and get to the mood. for this │
│ rich content, not only with music but also lyrically, 'Neptune' by │
│ CORAXO wins my love. │
