              inception three years ago. This
              double-disc set marks its' 50th
              release, and contains a wealth of new
              material from the 14 artists currently
              signed to the imprint. Predictably,
              most bring their A-game, resulting in a
              collection that offers a neat snapshop
              of the bass-leaning electronic
              underground. Highlights come thick and
              fast, from the lo-fi, grime-meets-R&B
              pop of "Guards" by 18+, and the
              outsider acid-pop of Soft As Snow's
              "Brainliquid", to the revivalist
              ambient house bliss of Call Super, the
              Motor City futurism of House of Black
              Lanterns, and the dark jungle business
              of Special Request's nightmarish "Live
              From Alpha Centauri".
